Mailigen Review

Mailigen is a bulk email sending platform that allows you to enjoy a lot of excellent features at a very low price. This service is one of the best deals we’ve found, particularly for small to mid-sized companies. They have been around since 2009, which makes it one of the newer email marketing software companies that TopFiveAdvisor has reviewed. Despite this, they have a lot to offer and are already gaining renown for their services.

Mailigen Pros

Allows online surveys, includes a fully featured autoresponder service, and allows unlimited email campaigns and subscriber lists. One of the cheapest services available.

Mailigen Cons

The Mailigen service lacks live chat, video tutorials, and webinars to help you understand how to use their service.

Newsletter Features

Mailigen Features Review

Mailigen has come a long, long way since our last review. They have added all of the features you’d expect for an email marketing service plus they have added the latest in cutting-edge features that customers are demanding in today’s marketspace.

Drag n Drop Email Template Editor – Start with a template available in their system and add a ton of features to your newsletter using a nice drag and drop interface. They provide 10 types on content blocks to choose from, 4 column layouts, buttons, social media links, image galleries and much more.

Social Media Integration – Add social media notifications when you send out an email campaign, integrate social media sharing links and more. They even include a Facebook App that you can use to integrate a contact form inside of your Facebook page, which is amazing!

They offer other great newsletter features including online surveys, mobile marketing and other integrations if needed.

Subscriber Management

Email list management features are pretty thorough. You cannot integrate third-party apps, nor can you block addresses, but you can easily import contacts into your address book from other clients, and you can also handle bouncebacks and remove undeliverable email addresses. You also have the ability to segment your contacts into lists which you can use to send out relevant emails based on demographics and interests.

Email Reporting

With Mailigen’s email reporting analytics, you can track opens and click rates for your emails as well as bounced emails and unsubscribe requests. See who has been forwarding your emails and interacting with your content. Share buttons are included in your emails so that they can forwarded through social networks. With Google Analytics integration, you can see whether your emails are generating real interest in your site in the form of browsing and buying. Once you figure out whether your emails are converting, you can work on improving the effectiveness of your campaigns.

Customer Support

Support is the one area in which Mailigen is fairly lacking at this point in time, which may be in part because this is a relatively “new” company (considering many competitors formed before 2000). You’ll find an FAQ on the site, but you won’t find any video tutorials or webinars, which can make learning your way around the platform more challenging. Live chat is available via Skype, and you can also get help via phone or email. Most support inquiries are answered via a webform/ticketing system.

Mailigen Review Conclusion

Mailigen 30 Day Free TrialMailigen has great pricing; you can start out at just $10.00 per month for up to 500 subscribers, an excellent deal for small businesses. The next level up costs just $25.00 per month and allows you to have up to 2,500 subscribers. The highest level listed is $180.00 per month for up to 40,000 subscribers, and you may contact Mailigen if you have a larger business. A 30-day free trial is available to test out the product before you decide to pay. You also can save 10 percent if you prepay for six months.

Overall, Mailigen has a lot of great features; you can do online surveys, the autoresponder service is fully featured, and you can create unlimited campaigns and subscriber lists. The only major drawback at this time is the lack of video tutorials and webinars, but hopefully that will change in the future.
