The first thing that stands out to us in our evaluation and review was the fact that they offer LiteSpeed Powered web hosting. Most hosts use Apache which is known to be slower in many situations. With LiteSpeed (normally a premium service you have to pay for) being offered as part of your hosting, you should notice a big speed improvement if you are transferring your website to HawkHost.
HawkHost offers an industry standard 30-day money back guarantee with their web hosting. They offer shared hosting, reseller hosting, VPS hosting, and semi dedicated hosting solutions should your site need an upgrade down the road.
HawkHost ProsThey offer extremely competitive rates on their web hosting (as shown below). Each plan comes with a free site builder, unlimited domains, LiteSpeed, cPanel, choice of 6 hosting locations and 24/7 customer support.
HawkHost IssuesWe found references to telephone support, however, their number is largely missing on their website with exception to their 2nd screen on their slideshow on the main page.
Top Five Advisor has reviewed the shopping cart process and has confirmed that these are the real rates that you will pay. The only difference between these 4 plans is the amount of disk space you’ll receive. The only time you’ll run into disk space issues over 3GB is when you are running a high-resolution photography blog or a website that requires a lot of large images and files. Most sites will not come close to touching even 1GB.
HawkHost offers most of what we look for when reviewing their customer support department. As we’ve mentioned, their telephone number is largely missing from their website, however, we did find evidence that toll-free support is available should you need it.
Some other support options that stand out are the customer forums community and their blog. Be sure to review their blog for special promotions, for instance, they are currently running a site-wide 60% off discount during the month of October (the time of this review) so its worth taking a look at their site for offers, especially if it is a month where major holidays are occurring.
Their customer support forums appear to be dormant. I think their forum is setup with far too many categories and it is causing less engagement from their client base. At the time of this review, the last post on their forum is over 10 days old. However, the forum still has potential with over almost 20,000 members registered.
Besides the irony that the company name suggests they are experts at spamming people, it’s the opposite. With this included service, nearly 99% of all spam will not reach your inbox when you are using email on your domain name. The system includes advanced teaching algorithms so that you can tell it what is or isn’t spam in your inbox. This is certainly an interesting feature to read about on their website.
